Let Your Dreams Fly - Thrift Shopped Junkie

From the second I saw the Thrift Shoppe Junkie kit I knew it was going to be one of my absolute favorites!  It's sooooo beautiful.

With the exception of a couple digi flower stamps and the Webster's Pages green flower trim, everything on here is from Thrift Shoppe Junkie.  (OK, the actual text pages I used aren't technically from this kit but you do get a couple of text pages in the kit.)

I love the Pink Paislee frames that come with the kit.  I have no idea what material they are but they're kinda the texture of taffy although they keep their shape.  They come "naked", a manilla color, and I sprayed this one with lime Maya Mist.  Love how the color concentrated in the crevices.

And how stinkin cute are those Prima pebbles???????  Perfect for little girl or baby pages.

Incidentally, the pics on this layout are the last professional pics I had taken of my daughter.  She's 4 months here.  She's almost 5-years-old now.  Guess I should think about getting some more, eh?

I'm taking a Claudine Hellmuth techniques class online and am learning some really fun painting techniques.  Here I incorporated a watermark resist with acrylic paint wash and acrylic paint stamping.  I love the way it came out.

Thanks for  checking my layout out!

Girly Girl

(This layout was inspired by a collage over at NVS.)

I found a pic of my Girly Girl at age 4 right after her baby brother was born.  She's so beautiful!
She was sooo posing for that picture!  She did it on her own...with no direction.  What a ham!

I played with Picnik to add part of the title to the photo.  So cool!

I misted a kraft envelope (by Maya Road) to match.  F...U...N!
I used some elements from my Pink Ninja Addicts Kit: Carousel!

Hope y'all are having a wonderful summer!

Fear of Falling

I created this layout for my Design Team position at All About Me challenge blog.  The Challenge is Your Fear.  Check it out and play along!

One of my HUGE fears is FALLING!  I'm afraid of heights...to the point of panick attacks.  I have to do breathing exercises going up elevators of VERY tall buildings (YES, THIS WASHINGTONIAN HATES THE SPACE NEEDLE)!  I can't look out windows from high for too long....and forget about peering over a balcony!  Yikes!  But that's not all.  I can't even look at it on tv!  If someone is on a ledge I get sick, if the camera shot is overlooking the street from up high I turn my head, if my kids are NEAR a window or balcony, I watch and let them enjoy...but then say after a few minutes "Get away from there or you'll give me a heart attack!"  Yes, friends, I too have issues!  Don't let my cheery smile fool you!

And since I'm usually quite long-winded, I couldn't say this all on my layout because it would take away from it all...so I wrote a quick poem....ha ha!

journaling:
My legs turn to jell-o when I think about being up HIGH….or when I see someone too close to the edge, looking down below. My heartbeat quickens, I can’t seem to breathe. I pray for the moment to pass and that TWISTING in my heart to ease, with the return to SAFETY.

Once again, I created with my FAVE Pink Ninja Addicts Kit....Accidentally Kelly!  Ninja Masters...I dunno how you do it month to month, but your kits are so rockin' cool!

Backyard Nudist - Sing for the Moment

I'm sure we all have pics of the little kiddies au natural in the yard, LOL!  Before we had our pool The Boy liked to play with the hose on the patio and watch all the bugs crawl up out of the grass.  His little toddler tushie is so adorable but couldn't just splash it all of the internet, of course, so you get the censored version.

Made this with more of the Ninja Addicts' "Sing for the Moment" kit.  Seriously my fave one so far.  The colors are just perfect.

Hope you're having a great summer so far!!

My Favorite Shoes - Sing For the Moment

I love EVERYTHING about this layout.

I know, I know...it's pretty simple.  But it encompasses some of my favorite things right now...

The colors on this layout are one of my fave combos - green, white, & yellow.  It just makes me happy.  And guess what???  Every single thing on this layout is made from the June Ninja Addicts kit "Sing For the Moment"

I had such a hard time narrowing down exactly which embellies to use because they're all perfect.  I'm pretty sure they made this kit especially for me.  ;oD  Aw, shucks!  Thanks girlz!

OK, everything on the layout is from the kit except this one little pin:

The layout itself is about my favorite shoes.  And there are some other fave things in my picture.  The view of the tree from my scrap table which is home to the crankiest starling ever - he's so much fun to watch, my clean scrap table (!), my yummy green iPod, and a completed layout (it's always nice to have finished ones, eh?  and, oh, looks like a Pink Ninja, one, too, lol).   And I love picnik.com.  The picture was edited and the text added using picnik.  So simple!!

I also love the Sketchy Thursdays sketch that I used for the layout.

So, there you have it.  Lots o' my faves all wrapped up in one neat little layout.

Have a great day!

Got Balls?

My son played both baseball and basketball this past year.

(Sorry the color on these pics is so jacked up.  Not sure what happened.  It looks like I put some funky 70s filter on the pics.  Huh.)

He was naturally good at baseball but found it boring.  Too much waiting around.  He is loving playing basketball even though it doesn't come as easily for him.  He'll be doing basketball camp this summer so hopefully that'll raise his skill level so the game is just that much more enjoyable for him.

I used a combination of the Ninja Addicts' Mommy's Little Monster and Accidentally Kelly Street kits for this layout.

Now, I must give a brief story about this page. I got married September 19, 2009. Within three months my husband lost his wedding ring. Didn't take long...I know, right?! [at least it didn't cost a fortune].

So for Valentines day this year, I picked up a new ring, took a series of photos [pictured above], and gave them to him in a card. Standing next too him I had his ring around my neck, waiting for him to catch on. I thought I was pretty clever. ;)

This photo is of me [in the middle], one of my best friends [on the left], and my sister [on the right]. We [along with some other friends and my mom] hung out at the spa for the day, for my bachelorette party. Best time ever.

Both pages were created using the Accidentally Kelly Street Kit that I won during the last blog hop. This kit rocks! Thanks so much ninja masters!

Altered Frame using Thrift Shop Junkie

So you know... Thrift Shop Junkie and Stay Beautiful are AWESOME!!  I've had a blast playing with this kit and had some awesome stuff come out of it!

I created this altered frame using the kits. Way cool!!! The frame was like a shadowbox and I just played on that with the embellishments. A great way to remember our awesome Easter this year!!

Some close ups.......

Thanks for looking! Can't wait to see what else is done with the kits!!!

Carousel Ballerina

I used the Ninja Addicts "Carousel" kit for most of this layout.

I had taken lots of pics of my daughter at her Fairytale Ballet class so I made a two-pager to get quite a few different shots in as well as an artistically edited close up of her adorable ballet shoes.

Oct/Nov 2010 issue - "Ballerina", animal prints call

It's really hard to see but each flower petal is actually a stamped image of ballet shoes. (Maybe if you click on the pic and zoom you can see it better.)

Isn't that bottlecap center adorable?!!  So in love with it!

Thank goodness for the Stamp-a-ma-jig.  This quote is a stamp and with the help of the Stamp-a-ma-jig I was able to stamp each individual line perfectly on the lines on the journaling spot.

I've already had to fight my daughter off this layout because she wants that little ballerina for herself.

A close up of the artistically edited ballet shoes shot.  (Thanks, Picnik!)  I might have to blow this up and hang it in her room on its own!

This layout is based on this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch.

Kickin' It...BUCKET STYLE?????

I've been meaning to do a bucket list for some time now.  And a post over at my friend Carrie's blog gave me the inspiration I needed to get my butt in gear.  Thanks Carrie!

Look at all the goodies peeking out here!  Don't you wanna reach out and touch it?

I used LOTS of Pink Ninja GOODIES in this one!  And once again.....this is my most FAVORITEST kit...Accidentally Kelly Street.  I just love the combinations of color, girly and a little tough rock girl in there!  Just like ME!

Yah, I KNOW....lots of photos...but I took em...and I have to put my time to good use and share em ALL!

I really love this mini canvas book by Maya Road.  I want another one to play with.  It's so cool because it has two of these wonderful canvas pockets and thick chipboard pages!

So the topic was making a bucket list and I sat for a few minutes just thinking of things I'd like to add.  I figure the canvas pockets would be perfect for momentos like ticket stubs or something....little pieces of evidence to show I completed an item on my bucket list.

I used a hot glue gun to glue all these beautiful pieces to my pages.  It really works well!

I used lots of my Etsy purchases in this book!  This book is also a tribute to my LOVE of ALL THAT IS Etsy!!!!

This cute little bunny is from my girl, AND FELLOW NINJA JESSICA/Euphoria's Etsy Shop called Random Shenanigans!  Love all her beautiful goodies in her store!

Here's a close up!  I'm gonna use some of my bunnies for an Easter layout as well!

I LOVE how I layered strips of paper on this page!  That pink piece has a velvety soft feel.....gosh I so love this book!

That lace impressed heart is also from Random Shenanigans.

And that beautifully decorated chipboard button is created by London Tierney from her Etsy Store called Such Sweet Tierney!

I added lots of cute brads to the holes....makes me giggle!

Remember, if you can't read the print, click on the images and you'll get a close up of ALL my photos!  I take the time to upload them as LARGE as I can just for you all!

I know, some of them are really simple...go fishing...I have as a child but it's been soooo long that I really need to go again!

I've also left some pages blank to be filled in later as I come up with MORE things to add to my bucket list!

I love that green tulle!

He he...isn't that cloud sooooo stinkin' cute?  That's another creation by Euphoria!

Look at those cheeks!  I love all the stitching around the edges!

More of those lovely paper strips...and another Random Shenanigans item...that froggy frog is soooo adorable!

giggling....

And a crochet flower from my Pink Ninja Addicts Kit to which I plopped on that cute bunny in the center and secured with some hot glue!

I love all the layers and how you can see items peeking out from behind other items!

This project was sooooo motivating and made me reflect on life and realize that I should keep my sights on some goals I have even though I tend to live life from moment to moment...to enrich it, I really need to remember to make my hopes, dreams and goals come true as well!

Have you worked on YOUR LIST?  Do you have one?  What's on it?

Hugs,
Ninja Mo
